Shapeshifter
are a UK-based band comprising a core of three members, Paul Bevan, Pete
Weller and Roz Polden, the rest of the outfit is a network of collaborators
who record and work live with the band, who have been around for the last
three years. Shapeshifter have gained both a following and critical acclaim
within the UK. The tracks available here on this compilation are taken
from the band's forthcoming album Someone Else's Heaven - which
should be available sometime after July 2001...

Shapeshifter's style is often
hard to define, but who needs categories anyhow? Their influences include
electronic trance, psychedelia, rock, tribal influences, celtic - the
list goes on and on.

Shapeshifter were formed in 1996 by Paul and have been through many line-up changes since then, although a more stable line-up is emerging with the return of original member Pete.
